The Unicorn and Theatre Centre present Carl Miller’s adaptation of Eva Ibbotson’s award-winning book, Journey to the River Sea. Directed by Rosamunde Hutt, Artistic Director of Theatre Centre, Musical Director is Matthew Bailey, lighting by Ceri James, choreography by Jeanefer Jean-Charles and set design by Nettie Scriven.

Carl Miller is Associate Director/Literary Manager of the Unicorn. Previously he was Artistic Director of the Young People’s programme at the Royal Court. His plays include Janet and Jane, Descent, The Last Enemy and Master Betty.

Eva Ibbotson’s novel Journey to the River Sea was the winner of the Smarties Gold Medal for Best Children’s Book. Her other novels include Magic Flutes, The Worm and the Toffee-nosed Princess, Dial-a-Ghost and most recently, Beasts of Clawstone Castle.
