Jeanefer Jean-Charles is a Movement Director, Choreographer and Creative Consultant with over 20 years’ experience of devising, creating, facilitating and directing dance and movement for performance.
Jeanefer’s work is celebratory, powerful and exciting to watch. Her unique creative process and approach to large scale performance draws together and brings to life the talents, strengths and shared stories of local communities, young people and artists in inspiring and unforgettable ways.
As a Creative Consultant with a passion for nurturing and developing talent, Jeanefer has led training and mentoring for artists and producers across the UK and supported arts organisations with strategic planning to develop work in schools and with local communities. Jeanefer’s consultancy clients and projects include Aesop – Dance to Health, East London Dance – Enterprise Ideas Summit, Tavaziva – Artist Training and Merseyside Dance Initiative – Big Dance framework.
Jeanefer’s credits include: London 2012 Olympics, Rugby League World Cup, The Queen’s Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace, Newcastle’s New Year’s Eve Parade and FA Cup Final 2016. The Unveiling of Mandela’s Statue on Parliament Square for Greenwich & Docklands International Festival & Kinetika, the First World Record Breaking Big Dance in Trafalgar Square for the Mayor of London, Big Dance & BBC, Beijing Cultural Olympiad Festival on the Great Wall of China and Thurrock 100 for Kinetika, and Roald Dahl’s City of the Unexpected for Wales Millennium Centre & National Theatre Wales.
